Portal Pirate's fun school work: Puppies

In sixth grade I wrote this short story.

“Mommy!” said Regi.                                                                                                                                                  “Yes, Regi, what is it?” asked Rachel.
Regi is a five year old boy that lives with his mom, Rachel. “Please, I want a puppy I can play with. Can we get a puppy, please?” requested Regi.
“Maybe let’s go to the pound, and see if they have any puppies.”
“Ya!” exclaimed Regi excitedly.
“Mommy can I get a boy to play with, please? “asked Robert.
“I don’t know that is up to our owner . How about you go play with your brothers.” replied Robert’s mom.
“Okay” sighed Robert “I am going to play with Antriag and Cailean.” “Weeee! Biking is enjoyable Mommy!” shouted Regi over the whistle of the wind.
“Yes it is,” Rachel shouted back as they pulled up to an old grey building.
“Is that the pound, Mommy?”
“Yes, it is honey.”
Click! “Ya we can get a puppy now!” exclaimed Regi excitedly as Rachel locked the bikes to the bike rack using a chain.“Hey, Regi!  Slow down!” Rachel shouted after Regi as he darted down the sidewalk .
“No, Mommy!  Speed up!” exclaimed Regi as he darted through the sliding doors of the pound.“How may I help you?” asked the man behind the front desk who was holding a kitten.
“My son, Regi, would like a puppy. Do you have any?” huffed Rachel.
“A little big puppy!” interjected Regi as he jumped up and down.
“What do you mean, young man?” laughed the man.
“Not too big, and not too small!” replied Regi as he began fidgeting.“I am sorry we don’t have any puppies left.  Someone just took the last one.” responded the man.  “Would you like a kitten instead?”
“No, thank you sir,” responded Regi.“Let’s go Mommy.  Where’s the next pound!” Regi exclaimed as he tried to hurry Rachel out the door.
“Regi, there is no other pound.  We need to come back next week.” Rachel replied in a soothing voice as she undid the bike lock.“Awwwww,” moaned Regi.
“How about we go get ice cream?” asked Rachel.
“Okay” Regi answered meekly.Whoosh!
“Excellent catch, Antriag!” shouted Robert as Antriag caught a frisbee just before it left their front yard.
“Thanks. Coming towards you, Cailean!” yelled Antriag as he  threw it towards Cailean.  “Excellent catch, bro!”“Your turn, Robert” exclaimed Cailean. “I think the mean dog is gone!” Next he threw the frisbee towards Robert.
Seconds later a snarling dog jumped out from behind a bush and headed for Cailean.
“No he isn’t. Run!” screamed Robert.
“I’ve got you, Cailean!” exclaimed Antriag as he picked up Cailean.
“Ouch!” gasped Robert as the mean dog bite his leg.“Mommy, a big dog is attacking a little dog! Let’s help!” announced Regi as he veered towards Robert and jumped off his bike. “Stop mean dog!!”
The dog whimpered and ran away.  At that moment Robert’s owner came out carrying a free puppies sign.“Thank you for saving my puppies!  ” exclaimed  Robert’s owner.
“You are welcome. I love puppies!”exclaimed Regi.
“Fantastic.  Do you have one at your house?” asked the man.
“No, we just came back from the pound, and they had just given the last one away.” explained Rachel.
“Oh! Would you like to have one of mine?”“Bark!” barked Robert.
“Mommy, I think all three doggies want to stay together. Can we keep all three?”asked Regi.
“Yes, if it is okay with their owner,” replied Rachel.
“It is fine with me.”
“Thank you, sir!”responded Regi.
“You are welcome, son,” replied the man.
Regi, Robert, Antriag, and Cailean had many adventures together.
